Privacy Policy
Last updated November 3, 2026
Future Flixs ("we," "our," "the service") is operated by Soothsayer Communications LLC and offers free, ad-supported streaming video on the web and on Roku. This page explains what information the service collects and how it's used.
No account needed to watch
The Future Flixs Roku channel and the website are free to watch without creating an account or signing in. The Roku channel never asks for your name, email address or payment details. On the website, signing in is only needed if you choose to subscribe, buy or rent something, and it is passwordless: enter your email and we send a one-time sign-in link, so we never receive or store a password. Signing in stores only your email address.
Subscriptions and purchases
Subscribing, buying, or renting a title is handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe, through their own secure checkout page. We never receive or store your card number or other payment details — Stripe handles that directly, under Stripe's own privacy policy. What we store on our side is limited to your email address, which plan or title you subscribed to/bought/rented, and the dates involved (e.g. when a rental's viewing window expires) — never your card details.
The Roku channel
To load the catalog and play titles, the channel makes requests to our servers. Video files may be delivered by third-party storage and delivery providers we use to host content, and they may receive your IP address in order to deliver the video. Roku, Inc. also collects its own information about how you use your device and channels, under Roku's own privacy policy.
"Continue Watching" and playback position
To let you resume a title where you left off, your playback position is saved locally on your device — in your browser's storage on the web, or the Roku/Fire TV equivalent there. This information stays on your device — it is not sent to or stored on our servers, and it's cleared if you clear your browser's site data or uninstall the channel.
Advertising
Future Flixs is supported by advertising and sponsor messages, shown between titles on the live channel and, when we turn it on, before or after a title on demand. These ads are scheduled and delivered by us. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers and we do not share your watch history with them. We count how many times each ad plays so we can report that to the advertiser; those counts are not tied to who you are. If we later use a third-party ad service, including Roku's advertising service on the Roku channel, that service may collect information such as your device's advertising identifier under its own privacy policy, and we will honor the Limit Ad Tracking setting on your Roku device. This page will be updated before that happens.
Playback analytics
While something is playing, the app you're using periodically lets us know it's still playing, so we can see how much of the catalog is actually being watched. Each of these check-ins is tagged with a random, temporary id generated fresh for that one viewing session — never your account or email — and we use your IP address, only at that moment, to work out an approximate country/region for that session. We don't store the IP address itself, and none of this is tied back to who you are.
Information collected automatically
Like most web and streaming services, our hosting and content delivery providers automatically log standard technical information needed to serve video and pages — such as IP address, device/browser type, and request timestamps. This is used for security and to keep the service running reliably, not to build a profile of you. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days and then deleted.
Captions
Some titles have closed captions. They are created from the title's own soundtrack by speech-recognition software that runs on our own servers, so the audio is not sent to any outside captioning service, and they may contain mistakes. Whether captions show is your choice: on the web the player remembers it in your browser, and on Roku it follows your device's caption setting.
Children's privacy
Future Flixs is a general-audience service and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect or how we use it changes, this page will be updated to reflect that, along with the "Last updated" date above.
Your choices and contact
Watch progress on your Roku device can be cleared by removing the channel. To ask what we hold about you or to request deletion, or with any question about this policy, email soothsayercommunications@gmail.com. We reply within 5 business days.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the Colorado Privacy Act or California privacy law), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Email the address above to make a request; we will not treat you differently for asking.
